Installation & Hardware Configurations

Installation and Hardware Configurations – Waterproofing Options for Submersible Installations & HOT-TAP Valve Retractable Assemblies, 3rd Generation (3GVR)

When it comes to the installation and hardware configurations for submersible applications, selecting the appropriate waterproofing style is crucial for ensuring the longevity and performance of your sensors and assemblies. Our waterproofing styles are designed to accommodate a wide range of environments, from ordinary submersible installations to highly aggressive slurry solutions and corrosive liquids. Below is a detailed overview of each waterproofing style to help you choose the best option for your specific needs.

Waterproofing Style “A” Series

The Waterproofing Style “A” Series is ideal for most standard submersible installations. When used with a suitable immersion tube (also known as a guiderod or standpipe), this style provides reliable protection in less demanding environments. The “A” Series is the go-to choice for typical applications where the conditions are not overly harsh, offering a balance of protection and cost-effectiveness.

  • Best For: Ordinary submersible installations
  • Installation Requirements: Suitable immersion tube (guiderod or standpipe) required

Waterproofing Style “B” Series

For environments that involve aggressive, agitated slurry solutions and corrosive liquids, the Waterproofing Style “B” Series offers superior protection. This style features complete cable isolation with rugged tubing that is factory-installed, making it fully submersible without the need for an immersion tube. The “B” Series is designed to withstand the harshest conditions, ensuring your sensors remain fully operational even in the most challenging environments.

  • Best For: Aggressive agitated slurry solutions & corrosive liquids
  • Installation Requirements: Fully submersible without immersion tube

Waterproofing Style “C” Series

The Waterproofing Style “C” Series is similar to the “A” Series but with enhanced sealing, making it suitable for more aggressive environments. Like the “A” Series, it requires a suitable immersion tube for installation, but it provides additional protection against aggressive, agitated slurry solutions and corrosive liquids. The “C” Series is ideal for applications where the conditions are more demanding, offering an extra layer of security.

  • Best For: Aggressive agitated slurry solutions & corrosive liquids
  • Installation Requirements: Suitable immersion tube (guiderod or standpipe) required

Waterproofing Style “IT” Series

The Waterproofing Style “IT” Series is our most cost-effective waterproofing solution, suitable for a wide range of submersible applications. This fully submersible assembly does not require an immersion tube, making it an excellent choice for applications where simplicity and cost-efficiency are key. Despite its affordability, the “IT” Series does not compromise on performance, providing reliable protection in various submersible environments.

  • Best For: Most submersible applications
  • Installation Requirements: Fully submersible without immersion tube

HOT-TAP Valve Retractable Assemblies, 3rd Generation (3GVR)

Our 3rd Generation (3GVR) HOT-TAP Valve Retractable Assemblies are designed for use with 1½” & 2″ 316 Stainless Steel (316SS) HOT-TAP Assemblies for the 5X31, 5X41, & 5X51 Series pH Sensors and ORP Sensors. These assemblies support the insertion and removal of sensors directly into process tanks or pipes while the process is running, with the ability to withstand pressures of up to 100 psig. The 3GVR assemblies offer exceptional durability and flexibility, making them ideal for continuous process monitoring in demanding industrial environments.

  • Best For: Insertion & removal in process tanks or pipes during operation
  • Pressure Support: Up to 100 psig
